The Harewood Arms is located on the main Harrogate Road opposite the entrance to Harewood House, home of the Earl and Countess of Harewood.
The Harewood Arms is a former coaching inn with a history dating back to 1810. Today the inn offers a high standard of comfort in beautifully appointed surroundings. All twenty nine bedrooms are individually designed with private bathroom or shower room ensuite. Some rooms also enjoy views of the garden and the lovely Yorkshire countryside.
The inn makes an excellent base for visiting the spa town of Harrogate and the cosmopolitan city of Leeds, which are both just 7 miles away, York and the Yorkshire Dales.

Pub meal. Food is pub grub - nothing special but quite acceptable. No cask beer which I was surprised for a Sam Smiths pub. Usual Sam Smiths restrictions inside. Excellent location for Harewood House.
Being a Sam Smiths bar, use of mobile phones and other devices is banned. This was actually enforced by the bar person. Also rather negative signs saying don't hang around the bar area. In this day and age? I don't think so. Won't be rushing back.
Visited on a recent holiday in the area. Large pub with two open fires. Samuel Smith pub so only serve their drinks which was fine and their stout was very, very nice. We had meals there twice and although the menu is basic pub grub (pies, fish, burgers etc) I had no complaints. The prices were reasonable, quality was fair and service was pretty quick. The pub does not allow the use of mobile phones or other gadgets and I really liked that. We talked, laughed and played cards. I am hoping to visit again soon and perhaps stay in one of their rooms and see what that is like!
We knew before arriving, no music in bar and no wifi and the request not to use phones. If you understand this and embrace it, its quite an enlightenment. We went with friends and ate, drank and talked all night. James was an excellent host and looked after us excellently. A huge property which was lacking a little TLC.
Called in on a Friday evening for meals. Food delicious including home made chips. Really wanted to try the syrup sponge pudding but didn't have room. Nice atmosphere. No phones etc make it interesting. Bearing in mind the location I was expecting the cost to be much more than it was. Very good value indeed. Would recommend.
