About us

This pub partly occupies the site of the long-standing public baths, designed by Cuthbert Brodrick. The baths stood facing Leeds Institute, another of Brodrick’s designs. Brodrick also designed Leeds town hall, a stone’s throw from this site.

Lovely breakfast and coffee served promptly after fasting for an early appointment at LGI. Disappointed I couldn't have apple crumble and custard with my breakfast but maybe a little early 🤣🤣

Always a popular bar with seating on two levels. Wheelchair accessible and very well looked after. Very attentive staff and drinks and food great with good selections of both. Outdoor seating area available which is a suntrap. Lovely location on Millennium Square.

This is the second visit to this pub and by far the worst of the five Wetherspoons I visited yesterday though the atmosphere was OK and the bar staff were efficient if a little brusque. Unfortunately, we chose to eat here too. Any empty table appeared to be full of used glasses and crockery, with half eaten meals. When staff did get around the clearing tables they appeared unwilling to give the table a wipe over. We got a table upstairs and moved some glasses off the table, I then asked a member of staff if she would wipe our table. The look I got for asking was one loathing. I only wanted my table wiped! Because I was ordering in person it meant a trip down the stairs to the bar. The bar staff was quick and efficient but I could sense a impatience as I tried to negotiate my way through the overly full menu card. The food arrived at our table within a very short time of me getting back to the bar. But it was cold! Our meals could not have been stood around for any length of time so I am unsure as to why both meals were cold! That said the food was edible and I did not have the will to travel down the stair to complain. It was also very good value for money. Hopefully, my third visit will be more like my first!

A great classic Wetherspoons pub in the heart of Leeds. There is a good selection of drinks at a great price.

Great service, tables nice and clean, music at the right volume. The only negative was that my eggs were slightly over done and the black pudding was very oily like it had been deep fried. Still a nice meal and finished the lot so can't complain. A little more attention to detail on the food and it would have been perfect! Still a big thumbs up from me!
