Food, art, beer and live music in the heart of Leeds. Whether you’re looking for a chilled spot to drink some craft beers and cocktails or somewhere to get your groove on at the weekend, you’ve come to the right place.
Ecletic and discerning music venue for those that know
Formerly The Corner Shop until 1992 and Harris Grocers during the 1950s, Nation of Shopkeepers holds the building that now lives up to its name. The foundations were laid by The Courtyard mid-1990s until the space was transformed into the Shopkeepers that exists today. With its bar, kitchen and infamous courtyard, Nation of Shopkeepers is now a host to art, frequent live music and various events.
Up until last year, we were known for our thrift-store décor, wonky courtyard and street art ladenwalls. April 2017 saw us close the doors on the old Shopkeepers and re-open with a whole new vibe and a fresh new courtyard to rival every outside drinking space in Leeds.

Really inclusive. I’m Autistic and was in a panic. They gave me a kind place to drink and took good care of me. Conner the doorman should make you proud and the bar staff are super cool too. Thank you!!
Great bar. Good atmosphere with indoor and heated outdoor seating and a good selection of drinks. Food has always been decent too the times I've had it. Only negative I'd say is BRING BACK FRULI BEER!! 🍓🍺
One of the best bars in Leeds! Great beer, great food!
Extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful staff, Hannah especially went above and beyond for our large party of 18 - including making sure dietary restrictions where carefully dealt with. Delicious food and drinks. The only improvement would be making sure the website is up to date and accurately reflects the menu - it would have saved a lot of confusion and effort if the correct menu had been in place to start with. However, Hannah did an excellent job resolving this issue on the phone and via email.
First ones in so all quiet, but a lovely friendly welcome, and plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink. Bold and interesting place and has an impressive beer garden for days when the sun is shining.

This pub partly occupies the site of the long-standing public baths, designed by Cuthbert Brodrick. The baths stood facing Leeds Institute, another of Brodrick’s designs. Brodrick also designed Leeds town hall, a stone’s throw from this site.
