The Lickfold Inn is a lovingly restored restaurant and pub tucked away in the greenery of West Sussex.
The dining room is located upstairs in the pub and is perfect for both intimate tables and larger groups. We are passionate about giving our guests unsurpassable service to complement the food and drinks. We champion local producers from the West Sussex area and focus on the provenance of our ingredients.
Our menus change with the seasons as we love to showcase the finest produce available at the time our guests dine. Our focus is on British dishes, executed immaculately and we make everything from scratch, in-house.
Downstairs in the airy bar, we are passionate at providing the very best in bar snacks and beverages. From local ales to carefully selected wines and premium spirits, all sitting alongside a food menu of refined bar snacks and small plates.
In winter, we light roaring fires in the hearth, making the pub the perfect shelter from colder weather and in summer, we welcome guests to enjoy their drinks outside in the sun, overlooking our kitchen garden.

Food was good and the only positive. Service appalling with non-interested and unmotivated staff. The table location was poor as it was next to an entrance for customers and staff to enter the lower restaurant area. Requested to move tables (tables available for the whole time we were there) or to our requested area which was just ignored and someone sent to move the table 3 feet. The atmosphere started well enough and then the big table arrived and ruined the experience for others around them with no regard to anyone around them. In the end, I couldn't get out quick enough! There are much better options within a 10 - 15 minute drive, depending on how far you are prepared to go.
Lovely lunch. Good quality and varied menu. Starter of scallops with black pudding and cauliflower purée was very good, followed by excellent steak and ale pie with rich gravy - with the pie made on the premises. I’ve been visiting this pub for many years, through its many incarnations, and am happy to see it back and under local ownership. I will be returning….
Pie of the day was delishhhhhh! Should have photographed it with the gravy. Could have eaten it twice over. We were a huge party and were sat in the outdoor area.
We had a fantastic roast here and a pudding. The food was so lovely. The staff were friendly and as a bonus they had a fantastic saxophone player playing songs which added to the atmosphere.
This pub was established in the 1400s and was refurbished in 1972. Cozy space to have a delicious dinner and/or drinks. Good value for money, the plates are generous. Food is fresh, wholesome and in season. Staff is welcoming, warm and helpful. The duck salad and the venison were our favorites. Wine wise they have enough and good options. Perhaps better to make a reservation as might get packed mostly on weekends.
