Lovely traditional Sussex country pub at the centre of a close community. Lots of low beams - at different heights, so mind your head! Nooks and different areas twisting all around, good drinks with music & other events. You'll need to drive but there are a couple of areas for parking, as well as the road.

First time going to The Queens Head for a nice dinner and will probably not order to eat there ever again to be honest. Though I will say that the starters were amazing!! Specifically the Fried squid and whitebait. The tartare sauce was delightful and really light, and the batter was crispy. Not only that, but the service was a solid 10/10. Really polite and friendly, and catered to our needs swiftly. But unfortunately I was quite disappointed with my main, King Prawn and chorizo tagliatelle with some bread. Which seemed the most appealing on the menu at first, but as it was placed on the table…. There’s just no words really, the photo speaks for itself. The pasta was overcooked by a year and the prawns were just about cooked. I know I can’t expect much from pub food but still. It also came out almost less than lukewarm, but asked to heat it up and it was alright after. (Had to have my boyfriend’s Mum’s Pepper Pot Beef heated up too, and the mashed potatoes with her dish was literally just MASHED potatoes, not as creamy and soft as you’d think. Might have actually just been instant mash now that I’m thinking about it.) Nonetheless, I still didn’t eat much of my main. Would probably be best getting the Cod, Chips and Peas, as it’s the best main I’ve seen come out. Along with the Pulled Pork burger too!

Lovely old pub. One large, beamed, bar. Excellent ales, menu looked good. Nice welcoming smile from the young lady behind the bar (makes such a difference when you first enter don't you think!!). Beams are low, I'm 6ft 4 but fine for normal heights 😊 One large bar, log fire, tables for dining, armchairs and sofas for relaxed drinking. So relaxing my partner felt so comfortable she suggested we have another drink. A must visit if you are in the area.

Such a welcoming place. We arrived at 3.55 for a roast, not realising the kitchen closes at 4.00. They still served us an amazing roast. Thanks chef! The live music (Will) was great. Beautiful vocals. Atmosphere was lovely, buzzing and friendly. Definitely gonna become a regular customer.
