Popped in for lunch and a drink, both delicious! Currently having works done to the exterior and are due to close in a few weeks times (for 3 weeks), yet TBC so check prior. A very comfy and cosy pub with great good, drinks & friendly staff. Food: mac & cheese + tuna melt (side of chips)

We have been to the black swan on a regular basis for many years. Over the past few months, saying it has gone down hill would be an understatement. This review details our experience tonight (Saturday 13th January). On arriving, dirty glasses piled up on the bar and numerous tables yet the venue was not busy. Poor service at the bar. Inconsistent pricing. The same round of drinks was charged at 3 different amounts and then the final round, changing an alcoholic drink to an “on tap” soft drink cost more than all the previous rounds. There was also no ice available. There are many other pubs available in the local area that could easily take the business if this place was to close.

Had a really lovely meal in the Black Swan, before going onto Gatwick. The Chicken and Hock pie was the best I have ever had.

Friendly front of house, I walked in and was offered a table in the restaurant or bar the only difference was table service or take a number. It's a Badger Pub so some lovely ales on Tap. I opted for a pint of Tangle foot which was arrived very quick and my order was taken to the kitchen. I went with the Sloppy Joe beef burger and it was lovely with a bit of spice from some jalapeño with seeds still in. Yum. For desert, I opted for the sticky which had some chunks of honeycomb with it and vanilla ice cream. Very yummy. Thanks to the whole team and ill most definitely be back when I'm parking over the road.

Great food and staff, prices comparable for the area and type of food served, handy if you’re stuck at Pease Pottage services for the weekend! I can heartily Recommend the beef Sunday dinner, beef was perfectly cooked and the veg was crisp and fresh.
