Went on Sunday evening for a family birthday celebration. Group of 10 so pre-ordered our food. Table was big and spacious, service was great, went above and beyond to help. Good served quickly, altogether and was a great roast. Lovely atmosphere, service and setting. Will definitely go again.

We had the pleasure of eating at the Fox Goes Free last night. It was an absolutely lovely evening. The atmosphere was lovely, service friendly, attentive but relaxed and the food lovely. Good beers, good food and great company. Had been a few years since we ate here but we will certainly be returning there again soon.

I know I normally rave about the beer (and it was good and local) but special mention has to go to both the quality of the food and the outstanding service. The fisherman's pie was excellent with succulent and generous fish portions, topped with a perfectly browned cheese topping. On the drinks front the ale is from Arundel and at a sensible strength at just 3.6% ABV. There were also good zero alcohol options.

A wonderful lunch at the fox goes free yesterday. The food was delicious. My husband and daughter had the burgers which they really enjoyed. I had the belly pork which was delicious. The home made ice cream and sorbets were delicious as was the brownie my husband had. Log burning fires made it super cosy on a cold day. Our waiter made the day with his humour and efficiency - he and the rest of the staff were super welcoming. They are very on the ball! Loved it and will be back.

As a pub, this place is great - cosy inside for the winter and with a lovely garden outside for the summer. We used to come here for food fairly regularly a few years back, and just recently went back for a Christmas meal. It always used to be really well executed pub food, but that is not what we got on our latest visit. Unfortunately we received dishes that didn't follow the menu description or just weren't cooked well. A shame, but I'll not be going back for food for a while.
