The Bear Inn is an 18th century coaching inn - once a popular smugglers haunt with contraband being landed in the nearby harbour.

Come and experience The Bear and enjoy a warm, friendly atmosphere with traditional beams and open fireplaces; choose from a range of real ales, keg beers, draught ciders, chilled lagers and an extensive range of gins, spirits and wines from the bar plus first class food served in the restaurant, main bar or one of our 3 outside areas.

We drove to Bognor Regis to visit my daughter for Xmas. We were hoping to get a meal and chat at the bear, but the landlady informed us that the kitchen was closed. She then proceeded to ring the neighbouring pub for us to see if their kitchen was open, and booked us a slot! Amazing service, as we had to shoot off to secure our table before their kitchens closed, so we weren't even able to buy drinks from her establishment before hand. Brilliant service. Thank you so much. I think the landlady's name was Sam. 🙂

This evening we had our Christmas Party at the Bear Inn what a fantastic night. Food was amazing, 5 star service, disco and lots of laughter, can't thank you all enough for such a wonderful night

The food was excellent and good value. The only thing that let it down was that there were a number of flies trying to land on the food whilst we were trying g to eat. Apart from that I would highly recommend the food.

Had a lovely meal here with the wife and kids. Very friendly and welcoming, food was delicious and nicely presented. Good selection of drinks.

The best food along the south coast….. absolutely delicious, traditional homemade food. The standard is exceptional, the variety of flavours in this local cuisine really brings home your traditional favourites…. Very generous portion sizes, your struggle to leave a clean plate. Finished off with a great selection of wine to complement the meal. Highly recommend if you’re in the area of simply looking to go for a drive and find a country hotspot. Also near the beach to walk off your afternoon meal. A real hidden gem.
