Delicious food, lovely service & great space. For years I've driven straight past this pub - so very glad a friend suggested a meal there as it is a real gem. Can't wait to revisit.
We live locally and this is such a fabulous country pub, the staff, food & atmosphere are always exceptional! Very beautiful interior, always a log fire lit! After multiple visits we cannot recommend this establishment highly enough! Thank you Tash, Dave and staff for consistently providing such a wonderful experience x
We had a family meal here while out for a walk. Food came in a reasonable time and a decent size and price. Sometimes had difficulty catching the eye of staff. Draught beer and cider includes Stowford Press, Neck Oil and Proper Job which went down well. I had a halloumi burger which had a lovely amount of halloumi and it wasn't chewy but soft, great mix with pesto and peppers. Husband had steak and kidney suet pudding which was a favourite and the rest of the table had scampi (great big fat chips that were crispy and soft inside) and then mackerel pate and prawn cocktail (starters so they could justify dessert). The st Clements cheesecake was full of citrus but no orange and very creamy, otherwise didn't pack much flavour Toilets clean and well looked after
We came to dine here twice while staying at the Riverside Lodges just over the road. The food and service was flawless, the portions were generous and all our meals were fresh and delicious! We had the beef burger, halloumi brioche, stuffed chicken pasta and sea bass, plus some starters. The food and drinks are very good value for the price you pay. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We look forward to visiting again soon!
Went in with my wife early one Sunday afternoon and had the best lamb roast I've ever had from a pub. The meat, the veg and the roast potatoes were amazing. We even had extra potatoes gravy on the side, so much food and so delicious. Well worth a visit any day of the week, but especially Sunday 😁
