About us

The West Port Hotel is located centrally within the historic town of Linlithgow where you will find Linlithgow Palace (one of the residences of the monarchs of Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries). Amongst other ‘must see’ sights are Beecraigs Country Park and the local Parish Church.

All our guests can park for free in our car park and for those travelling in by train, Linlithgow train station is just a 10 minute walk away.

Our 9 rooms all come fully equipped with a TV (Freeview), hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, luxury toiletries, iron and ironing board and free Wi-Fi for all guests. Our rooms have all recently been refurbished and breakfast is included in our standard room rates.

We have a bar and restaurant onsite with a large food and drinks menu and we also offer a number of afternoon tea packages to include both traditional tea and alcoholic options.

Those wishing to venture outside of Linlithgow will be pleased to hear that Edinburgh is just 30 minutes away on the train.

We look forward to welcoming you soon to West Port Hotel and we hope you enjoy your stay!.

The place was so cozy and made you feel right at home. If you’re looking for a more traditional pub experience you’ve come to the right place. The waiting staff were lovely and friendly. Saul, Nicole and Caren helped a lot with inquiries and the food was also very good.

Staff were so friendly when we stayed. Rooms were so clean and cosy. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious, my husband raved about his lamb shank. Will definitely be back.

Can't comment on the rooms but I can only assume that they're justr as great as the rest of the place. Food was fantastic and there was never an empty glass on our table. 10/10 would recommend to anyone travelling in the area

Cannot comment about the hotel. However aye at the pub: the few staff on were excellent. However at least 1/4 of the items on the menu were not available, apparently due to the failure of the head office to send adequate items.. it appears that none of food is provided locally but is shipped in for low trained ( and presumably low paid) cooks to heat them up. As supplies only arrive on Fridays, this situation will just worsen for customers over the next few days ... If you want to eat there, it might be worth checking in future to see if there are items not on the menu before going to avoid disappointment.. or maybe find an alternative restaurant which actually uses local food, prepared fresh if that is important ..

Excellent stay on my way back down south from Fort William after walking the West Highland Way. The staff were helpful and welcoming, and the roast dinner most filling. Breakfast was also most enjoyable. The room had been updated recently and was warm and comfortable with a very clean en suite shower room. The town was interesting and I had a lively walk back to the station along the canal. All very good value - thank you.
