My husband I popped in for one drink last night. Ordered on the app as we frequently use weatherspoons Shirley . After waiting 15 minutes I went up to the bar and asked a young boy where our drinks maybe as we have been waiting a while. He told me we could not have any and were barred. I asked him why, no response. We asked to speak to the manager who stood by her staff member and said we were barred. We had done nothing at all. Just went in sat down ordered from the app and then questioned why our drinks were late. We were not rude , never swore and although we had both had a drink were not inebriated. We are both mid 50,s and in all my life have never ever been treated so bad. I'm still in shock at how bad we were treated. I will be writing to customer services. What a disgrace ! Woke up this morning and still in shock at our poor treatment .
disgusting food. I ordered fish and chips and my daughter a burger. the waitress came and said there was no fish so I ordered lemon and herb half chicken and chips by the time mine came my daughter had nearly finished. the chicken looked green and grey and smelt off I tried a small bit and was nearly sick. my daughter took it back and I had pizza instead which came with a steak knife to cut it. this was burnt. honestly worse food experience ever. hopefully I dont get food poisoning. went there on Saturday 20th January 2024. 6.30pm
This is my first ever review and I know it's a spoons at the end of the day but I'm so upset and disappointed by the treatment from the staff. I'm sorry this is a bit long. We ordered a wrap and showed a written message to explain easier the order. A chicken wrap with no Chipotle mayo, as it was for a child who found the sauce spicy, and a gammon with an extra egg. The wrap had the Chipotle mayo in it and the gammon had no chips. When we mentioned it, the staff didn't seem to care at all and said then you need to take it (the food) to the bar and pay for more chips. But the meal comes with chips and the written oder we showed never said 'no chips' . During this my friend had to have her food on the bar whilst she spoke to the bar staff and the waitress refused to deal with the issue at the table, telling my friend she had to go to the bar (with her food). This felt unprofessional and a lack of care. This wasn't what promoted me to review. I work at a bar with a restaurant , I've dealt with busy Saturdays and I know how easy it is to make a simple mistake. As much of an eye roll that is to mention. But it was the lack of care that upset me. The girl with the long ginger hair in the updo hairstyle with a ribbon bow was incredibly rude, slamming the drinks on the table near the end of the night not saying a word and leaving. But when I ordered my food to the wrong table, which of course is my fault, nothing was done. When I asked my partner to speak to the staff again they gave him the brownie that had clearly been sitting on the side in the kitchen for half an hour. The ice cream was melted, the brownie was cold and crumbling and it very much felt like an f you. The issue I had was that I felt as though we were polite when we raised the issues with the food order of my friend and was met with an unprofessional response. The waitress (the one mentioned above with the ginger hair in a ponytail with a bow) said you have to go to the bar and pay for more chips (that are included in the meal) and left without listening to my friend. The food was then allowed to stay on the bar, the staff did not offer to put it under a hot light whilst discussing the issue. Then when I mentioned the brownie to the staff, they said I put the table in wrong and that seemed to be that. Because of that almost £6 was lost. I understand it was my fault that I put the table in wrong but to give me the dried cold brownie with melted ice cream when my partner asked again felt incredibly rude and unhygienic considering it had sat on the side of the kitchen for over half an hour now. I want to mention not all the staff were rude. The guy with the short mid length dirty blonde hair was lovely and the staff were clearly working hard. The slender girl with platinum blonde hair in the updo was also lovely. But I felt incredibly dismissed and the response we received from some was incredibly cold and a complete lack of professionalism. I'm really upset by the service we received
Nice spoons to have a quick pint in on our first leg of a journey to Somerset.Staff were friendly and quick to serve a good job as the parking outside is limited to 30 minutes.Multi storey car park close by but as we have a van the height restriction meant we couldn't access this.If like me you love Wetherspoons this is a nice one to tick off your list.
Update: have been a few times now and the food hasn't been up scratch. There is always something missing in one of our meals. Latest one was ordering an ultimate burger which was missing the bacon. Went to The White Sawn for lunch. Had to get past people smoking right outside the door. Once inside there was ample seating and we managed to get a nice clean table. We ordered from the app; the drinks and food arrived promptly after. The pizza we ordered was the right size as advertised and roughly the size of the plate. It was generously topped as well and tasted good. The fish and chips were also cooked well and you got a reasonable portion of chips in comparison to some of the small portions at other weatherspoons. Overall a good experience with fast service and good portion sizes. The only negative is to be prepared to go past the people sitting and smoking right by the only entrance (maybe they should move the smoking area)!
