About us

Our Snug area provides a relaxed atmosphere to sit and enjoy some traditional country pub meals while our restaurant provides the perfect location for more formal dining.

Our bar provides a wide selection of beers, wines and soft drinks. We specialise in providing great quality cask ales and have the only Guinness on handpull in the country.

Come and sit in our extended canal side beer garden and watch the canal barges pass by. We have plenty of seating available and a sheltered area for those rainy days.

What has happenned to this place? I have been coming here for years and it has always been warm, friendly, welcoming, lively and full of atmosphere and with a great choice of real ale. Twice I have been recently in 6 weeks and sadly no more. No atmosphere. No customers. Log fire not burning. From 6 real ale pumps to two and only one of those was working. 4 pump handles actually removed. The only plus was that the fishmonger sandwiches are tasty. Please get this place back to what it used to be.

Well. Where do I start. Feel very disappointed in the phone call I’ve just received of a friend of mine that I was meeting down at the pub to be told am not welcome as staff forgot to charge me for a single drink last night. Happy to pay but very uphappy to be told by a friend on the phone he wasn’t aloud to pay for my drink before I was there. Very disrespectful as I’ve given fire wood for the pub to be warm as they hasn’t had any all winter. A Christmas tree as a gift and stand. Sad to see the best staff member leave this week as well.

Despite being a pretty busy Sunday, the service was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. The Sunday Roast didn't disappoint either, we had the roast beef which was pink and succulent. Couple of decent real ales on tap and a decent wine selection. All in all well worth a visit. Great location in the summer too, right on the canal, and with a good outside space and plenty of parking space too

Thanks to all at the Inn. We're moored our boat there for a few days recently and visited the pub a few times. The people were super friendly and let us park some cars there overnight and the Sunday roast and dessert was fabulous. Thanks so much and we will be back. John and Linda

Pre-booked Sunday lunch with drinks. Lots of tables inside and out and ample parking on site, this pub is on a main road through village so easy to find. Hand pulled Guinness was tasty, Food was quality although the indoor dining area was very busy and a bit cramped. Staff were friendly and efficient. After lunch we retired outside under a large semi permanent tent they have set up for some more drinks but we’re plagued by wasps. Need some traps set up to minimise the amount of wasps invading the outside dining area. Would recommend the venue and the food.
