About us

We are proud our steakhouse restaurants have been awarded 'The Masters of Steak’ from the prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs. Their meticulous inspection of our field to fork practices, from the way we rear our cattle, to how our steaks are butchered, aged and cooked to perfection has led to this industry-leading award for Miller & Carter Hockley Heath.

We came to this harvester after being turned away from the arden oak harvester as we hadn't booked in advance and that there wasn't enough space at 11 am despite there being plenty of empty tables. So we drove to solihull monkspath harvester. We were having a good time once we were seated and the server was friendly and polite and was very helpful with our birthday cake we brought and took enough interest to ask who she was singing to. Our starters were great and then we got to our mains and the onion nests that came with our steaks were cooked on the outside but raw on the inside, it looked akin to white sauce which was clearly uncooked batter. Raw flour can harbour food poisoning bacteria. We told the server and then she offered to replace it, this time it was well cooked. We had another meal on the table with an onion nest which we cut into after we got the other one replaced, which was also raw. We asked to have it changed but were told we would be charged for it, even if they just took the raw one and cooked it a bit more they didnt have to replace it, we didn't ask how much it was as we weren't going to pay to have uncooked food changed, instead we went to show the chef that it was still raw. We were immediately met with hostility from the chef so went back to our table. The atmosphere had completely changed at the table as we were only a few metres from the service hatch. We finished our mains and decided against dessert as we wanted to leave as quickly as possible. We got the bill and spoke to the manager on the way out, he was polite and understanding to our situation and told us we shouldn't have been charged for our uncooked food to be changed. I was very disappointed with how we were treated for pointing out raw food as you'd think they wouldn't want poison their customers. The manager told us that the chefs are told to follow company guidelines on cooking times and the server told us that they normally come like that. We were compensated by having £10 taken off our bill which we were appreciative of but it didn't make up for our ruined experience. I wouldn't expect a chef to talk to a customer like that and I think with uncooked food, management should take a close look at company policies.

The starters and main meals except one were lovely, very tasty. Unfortunately, one of the meals was sent back due to a chicken breast not being cooked right. The rest of the mains were okay... The harvester restaurant itself is nice and clean inside. The biggest letdown is, unfortunately, the staff. The staff is very slow and hard to call back to a table. We ordered a few rounds of drinks , first took a very long time to come ( needed to ask for it twice), and second round, which was ordered with mains needed to be cancelled due to finishing food without

Great family meal! We booked a late lunch for on the way back, while out for the day at The Science Museum Think Tank. Conveniently located near the M42, it's also right next to a premier inn. I'm always passing by, but I haven't been here for ages! It's a one-way system, but it's easy to get to and plenty of parking spaces, even when really busy. There's always a warm welcome. We were shown straight to a fabulous large quiet seating area, as a big group eating. We did have to wait ages before being asked for our drinks order though! Once the food was ordered, we could all grab our much loved salads and the main food wasn't too long after. The salad bar does get raided, but they do keep it topped up and cleaned intermittently. Overall they were friendly staff and great food which everyone enjoyed. Some people even had room for pudding 🍮

We were greeted by Lee who was very welcoming and cheerful. We were seated and then our waitress Liberty took over... This young lady was the pinnacle of how people in hospitality should be... There was 7 of us in our breakfast party all giving this lady requests and she took them in her stride. She was attentive, courteous and professional to her customers and did a fantastic job throughout... A big well done from us. 🤗 The toast was flowing and so was the unlimited tea, although served in pots for two it was replenish quickly when asked. We did notice the toasted bread here was very soft and tasty unlike other venues that possibly use less quality bread. The breakfast was cooked to order and was beautifully presented (photos) and there was plenty of it on the unlimited... Although you can re order items, the amount on the first order is more than plenty... Being honest we weren't sure about the beans as they were a little bland (still ok but maybe needed seasoning) but the rest of the breakfast was lovely and the price was great. The dining area was clean and well decorated. All in all this was nice place to eat and meet up with friend and the service was impeccable so 5 stars from me 😎

The food was quite poor. The quality of the meat not great. The plates are far too big for what's on them. Best part of the meal was the dessert
