We are a traditional family run pub with real log fires in the winter, and a large lounge that overlooks our huge beer garden and play area which is a real hit with families in the summer.
Our heated glass screened patio offers a more comfortable option, helping to extend the late summer nights.
We provide home cooked, proper pub food and are known locally for our fresh fish and locally sourced game when in season.
A proud member of Cask Marque and Siba, we have featured repeatedly in the Real Ale Guide.....our real ales are a hit with the locals.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

First time at the Railway since new ownership. Excellent food (scrumpy cider & mustard sauce accompany gammon was fabulous), lovely decor and cosy atmosphere. Pleasant staff - will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.
Lovely meal out. Very friendly and attentive staff. Lovely, fresh, hot food. Will definitely be going back again!! Easy to park as lots of space in the car park. Modern and clean facilities.
Whilst we had a lovely evening, I wouldn't rush back. I was gutted the fish pie, which was divine, and was no longer on the menu. The food was average and didn't reflect well on the prices charged. If I compare it to the Malt Shovel or the lovely pubs at similar pricing, it wouldn't fare well. A real shame as the owners are lovely, warm, and welcoming. Just need a number of tweaks to get it up to standard.
Couldn't fault the food. Reasonably priced, hot, tasty and nicely presented. Excellent service and friendly and attentive staff. It's a shame though that the indoor eating area is so small. If the pub was extended, I would imagine that there would be no problem in filling the tables.
Update - 2nd visit to try fish and chips. Really well cooked and loved the fresh homemade tartare sauce. Really impressed with the food, service and decor here at really good prices. The burger was really tasty and patty was generous! Loved the caramelised onions on it. Coleslaw was also high quality and fresh which is hard to come by. Best burger in the area definitely. Can’t wait to come back and try something else.
