Plenty of ales on offer. Quiet pub, visited during happy hour which made us smile 😊 nice ham salad cobs 😁
Current managers are wonderful, good food and beer in a nice atmosphere.Nice to go in on a dinner time for my lunch break now as the coffee and fresh cobs are excellent..
Great selection of ales that are generally well kept. Service was hit and miss, the Guinness was very bad one of the very worst I've ever had. I would come here for ales nothing else.
Absolutely can not fault this place! We hired the room for a works party and they really delivered. The provided a bug room, buffet and DJ and it was great. The room was nicely decorated, there was plenty of food and the DJ went all night. The staff are super friendly and helpful and even wrapped up the leftover food for us to take home!
Price reductions at certain times in the day: 12-7pm, if my memory serves me right. I had a BFG and a cheese and onion cob for £5.45. Nice original features throughout the building and a view of the castle. I would go back back in the warmer months and check if there's a beer garden.
