We stayed here to go to the Campervan show at the NEC. The plan was to cycle there but the storm warnings meant we had to rethink last min as the cycle paths were flooded. We had read some really negative reviews on other sites but I would say these were unfair. Room was basic but nice. Very decent for the price we paid. The staff were lovely, food and drinks and atmosphere in the bar was great, very welcoming despite it being a local area pub. Being so close to the train station was ideal for access to Birmingham (6 mins) and NEC ( 8 mins) . A few little local shops and take aways nearby and a short walk or drive to Tesco and macdonalds if you want something familiar. Overall we had a fantastic time and would stay there again.

Its ok for a quick one night stay. Was clean enough for us. Fresh towels and toiletries were provided. We had a double and a single bed, my baby, 4 months old, so didnt use the single bed, she used her carry cot, there was more than enough space for it..... however the hotel need to check their matresses, that single bed matress had its springs broken, there is no way anyone can sleep on it, the entire matress was sunken down in the middle. The double bed was fine.

Pros * Friendly check in staff * Free parking * Bar looked up together, typical local pub. * Good Location for our planned days out. * Shower was good. Cons • Walls in the room were filthy- looks like beds and towels are changed but no actual cleaning takes place. • Walls are paper thin. First night consisted of guests stamping, shouting and banging doors whilst making their way to their rooms into the early hours. Second night THE WORST NIGHTS SLEEP I'VE EVER HAD, next door didn't shut up until 7am. Loud music, shouting, arguing in the corridor, slamming doors. I've always been of the belief that you cannot help who you get as guests but there was no number to call for assistance, the fact they were arguing in the corridor at 3am shows that there is no CCTV or it's not being monitored and I was unable to go see if there was any security as I was not leaving 2 children alone in the room whilst there were intoxicated guests. Had I been alone, I would have left in the night....you'll sleep better in the car. Nobody at the desk, when we left. I don't usually complain but others need to be warned. At the cost, I don't expect extras....no toiletries, coffee, toaster, iron etc but when selling a hotel stay, I would expect a clean room and to get some sleep.

Well what can we say about our stay..... The bed was clean Soap was left on the bed along with clean towels. Staff were friendly And they allowed our dog to stay (£20 extra charge and must have a crate if left in tbe room alone) Which for a room we booked 6 hours before we arrived we thought great!! However..... There is a strong smell of weed/cigarettes in the room which carried on through the night. Room its self looks tired and could do with up an update as well as the carpet replacing or having a real good clean at least. The matress was so uncomfortable 😫 you could feel every spring. Other things to note...... Checkin you have to go through the bar but once checked in you are given access to another entrance that avoids the bar. Parking was a bit hit and miss cause it is a pub so on a friday night the carpark fills quickly. The bathroom nothing massive to say hear other than the normal wear and tear and its small. We didnt hear the pub even though its a Friday night this may depend on your location of the room. But between 12-5am the fire door closing/banging people where up and down talking loudly, and i hardly slept. Every time the fire door opened and closed the wall would shake. Then to add to the fun the fire alarm was set off by another guest at 5:30am because they were smoking in their room. Overall apart from the mattress and the noise all night and the fire alarm at 5:30 this morning i have stayed in worse places and for convenience and price it wasnt horrendous but would advise ear plugs!
