Nice club friendly staff . Would definitely call again if in the area .
First visit here for a monthly held coffee morning/ lunch. Typical club, smelt of beer the minute I walked through the door!! Reminded me of when I worked behind a bar at a similar club many years ago!!!! Our gathering was in a room close to the Snooker room and was lovely and warm on arrival. No bar available to us ,seems strange, but no one bothered us as we supped tea and coffee 😉 Some small decorations for the festive season adorned the walls. Plenty parking on a Wednesday lunchtime and ,should you need , it a mobile butcher's van on the car park too!!!!!! Nothing much changes here! Clean room and toilets and a good temperature for a cool but sunny November day. This was a regular monthly coffee morning with buffet lunch, so no comments about the beer!!
Dance floor often not cleaned properly making it difficult to dance. Today (9/10/23) it was awful and people left early or didn't dance at all for fear of incurring injuries.
A huge, clean and very well kept club. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Good var prices. Very easy to move about in a wheelchair too. I had a really enjoyable bingo session there - and they keep a really good pint of guiness. Membership would be great but it's too far from home unfortunately.
A huge club. Extremely clean and well presented. Light, airy and confortable bars. The staff are friendly and welcoming. No waiting to get served at the bar. Highly recommended place.

This was built in 1929, opening on 1 December. Designed for the Davenport Brewery, by Francis Goldsbrough (from the local architectural practice of Bateman and Bateman), this is one of the largest and finest examples of a Brewer’s Tudor-style public house
