About us

Perched atop the Birmingham Plateau in the tiny rural hamlet of Forhill just two miles south of historic Kings Norton this charming red brick former coaching inn is a hidden gem in the North Worcestershire countryside. A real country pub built in 1828 on the ancient Roman road of Icknield Street The Peacock Inn is a haven for walkers ramblers and cyclists exploring North Worcestershire yet less than 10 miles south of bustling central Birmingham. The 37 mile long North Worcestershire Path passes directly opposite The Peacock at Forhill Picnic Place taking in the beautiful rural Worcestershire landscape river valleys and dense woodland on the way to the Georgian riverside town of Bewdley home of the Severn Valley Railway. Just two miles north lies historic Kings Norton with attractive canal side walks and its medieval village green and 13th century church. Bordering King's Norton is the model village of Bournville and the famous Cadbury World experience. For tourists, ramblers and locals alike with its original oak beams stone floors and log fires The Peacock Inn offers the best of both worlds – plenty of space yet retaining a snug cosy ambience. It's the perfect way to savour traditional pub food and drink.

Excellent Sunday dinner! We used The Peacock as a meeting place for drinks frequently and we had booked in for Sunday lunch for a family gathering and we’re very impressed. We were a larger table but the food came out in no time at all and the quality was the best we have had for a while. We will definitely be returning soon

Shared a lovely meal here recently with my partner; the food was delicious and the service was brilliant. All the dishes we had off the Christmas menu were top notch and left us feeling very pleased with ourselves. I had a cheese and fig soufflé for starters which was delightful, and beef cheek and mash for main which was absolutely melt in the mouth divine 👌🏻 Really felt taken care of by staff, without feeling rushed at all at any point. Cosy atmosphere, would definitely recommend a visit. Thank you very much to all the staff 💕

Loved the Peacock back in the day, went today and it's been revamped, good food, atmosphere and a nice place to be and enjoy some time with friends and family. Also top tier beers, Peroni, Madri and Moretti.

I have a bad habit of ordering a burger pretty much wherever I go. Burgers are safe - they're probably not going to blow you away, but they're probably not going to disappoint you either. So the question becomes, when the food arrives, do I look at everyone else's plate and wish I had ordered something else? We had a big family meal at the Peacock Inn today, and as per usual I got the burger. And when everyone's food arrived I thought, "damn, I should have ordered something else." Everything looked so good. Dont get me wrong, the burger was nice, but the other dishes looked special. So I definitely plan on coming back, and Ill do so with the confidence to try another of the amazing options on the menu. The service was great. It was a tiny bit louder than expected inside, which made it feel more lively than I had expected.
