Modern hospitality in a magnificent old coaching inn - a place for feasting, drinking and getting together with friends and family, and of course not forgetting your dog, in an atmospheric village pub. Positioned in the heart of Sutton Benger, Wiltshire, close to the Cotswolds and only a few minutes drive from junction 17 of the M4, The Wellesley Arms, with it’s welcoming bar, relaxed restaurant dining rooms, large garden, and ample parking, is the perfect resting or meeting point for weary travellers, whether on bikes, in a car or smaller motorhomes. We serve great drinks and seasonal food (during the summer until 3.30pm on a Saturday) in a relaxed and warm setting.
Great atmosphere. Good to see a proper pub area as well as seating for diners. Good to visit for a pint, light lunch or an excellent meal. Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. We will be back.
Beautifully designed ‘old place with new space’ – a refined country pub with warm hospitality and enticing atmosphere in mind. Offers an extremely civilised, thoroughly relaxed drinking or dining experience. Menu is great value – priced for every taste … and won’t disappoint even the most fastidious. (It was, for us, a perfect ‘Sunday supplement’!) Open fires, snug hideaways, obedient dogs, cheery faces … and an outstanding, engaging serving team that puts you centre stage, each time, every time, all the time. Wholly and heartily recommended.
Outstanding service from such happy and knowledgeable owners! Came for my Dads 70th and we are not from the area. Mark, Mark and their team were amazing from the first email until the last pint!. Welcoming, attentive and first class service as soon as we arrived. Food came out looking fabulous and tasting incredible. Amazing environment with room for 14 of us and 3 dogs. Children were catered for with an activity bag each and we all thoroughly enjoyed our time. Thank you Mark and Mark.
Absolutely brilliant food, service was outstanding and the staff so friendly and professional. Great touches like providing a rug for the dogs costs nothing but means so much. One day we will return, long road trip though from southern France 😎
Visited again and what a difference from my last visit, new owners have turned this place round. Good food and good service. We had one comment regarding the crumble topping and felt we had been listened to. Recommended and we will be back. Oct 23 another nice meal here
