Its a lovely country pub with a fire and a warm welcome, who would have thought we needed a two in one pie in our lives, but I am definitely a convert, the pastry was crumbly and melt in the mouth along with the meat in the filling, the cauliflower cheese was a lovely contrast. I had lime and lime tart for desert, again wonderful pastry so obviously home made - not many restaurants do that anyway. Good beer also. Looking forward to trying Sunday lunch soon
The 2-in-1 pies are delicious. The one pictured is a Stake and Mushroom pie. Great friendly service. Had a crème brulé for dessert. The only issue we had was the coffee. I'm sure it was a one off. Even then, you really don't go for the coffee, but for everything else!
First trip and won't be the last. I am literally bulging at the seams after this delicious filling pie. I had the 2in1 Turkey with trimmings and Cauliflower cheese in the other half. Washed down with Old Spot ale. It was truly a delight. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The pastry was like a cross between filo and short crust, it was almost like shortbread consistency and was fantastic. I would highly recommend visiting here to try these delicious pies!
Haven't here for a while used to love coming here in the winter , fire on pub cosy and warm not today. We were seated upstairs as we had a child it was very cold and draughty. We ordered a large 2in1 pie and a mini and a kids roast. When did the mini change its size !! It's now so small my 5 year old could have eaten it luckily she had extra vegetables with her meal which I ate. Was not the 2 in 1 pies we remembered unfortunately we won't be returning.
Booking is highly recommended in advance to avoid disappointment. Can't wait to go back to this little gem. On the edge of Nailsworth, it's on several walking routes and an ideal stopping place. The 1/2 & 1/2 pies are a must. Fantastic. See you again soon Mick & Mia
