I had booked a room with a view on New Year's Eve and, upon arrival, found our window looked directly onto a roof. We called reception and they moved us to a different room with a slight view, but at least better than the first one. The bar service was shocking as nobody was there to assist, and all of the bar stools were gone, and the chairs in the lounge were taken by people waiting for a function to begin, so there was not any place for us to sit, any way. So we ended up just going back to our room to wait for midnight.
Second visit to the Waterfront Hotel and very pleased with our room, food and service. Spent 2 nights on a post new year special and it was very good value for money. Good location, quiet room and lovely atmosphere, hotel parking with lift to reception. Have booked our next trip before leaving.
Arrived Thursday evening for a family wedding on the Friday at a different venue. Rooms were nice and adequate, but could have done with some better USB charging points. It would also have been nice if there had been some bottles of water in the room. Otherwise the bed was very comfortable though we did ask for some extra pillows, the room it's self was very cold but soon warmed up with the heating system. Shower and bathroom was very clean and I thought the hot shower was lovely, even if it did steam the bathroom out! Food in the bar restaurant was fabulous and so was the American pale ale, breakfast was also good. All the staff were nice and friendly and very good apart from the waitress in the evening who seemed out of her depth, we were asked to wait while she sorted out if we were ok to join the party we were with. She disappeared then eventually came back when we caught her attention, she then asked if she could help ? It was pointed out she had asked us to wait were we were? Other bad point it seemed very expensive to park at £15 per night!
Let's start with the room.Spacious rooms,with its own wall temp stat.Nicely laid out can't complain.Very clean. Good shower pressure and temperature. Great large TV at the bottom of your bed and a lovely little tea service in your room. Plenty of closet space sliding wardrobes comes with ironing board and iron. The dressing table comes with a hairdryer in. Main reception classy nice friendly staff. The hotel has long corridors, so no doors are separating like your travel lodges. Comfortable stay. The room I stayed in i thought wasn't very feminine coloured brown with one curtain that didn't work. Hotel boasts its sea views....however i had an industrial one! Disappointing. Loud traffic in the morning. Breakfast was amazing...continental full English...help yourself in the restaurant couldn't of asked for more. The hotel has its own car park...so you can park safely, and it's well lit and sign posted.
Hotel is extremely clean. Very beautiful. House keeping and reception staff are amazing. Abbie on reception went above and beyond for us. Every credit to her. Unfortunately the only downfall was the breakfast and restaurant staff. Both mornings the hot breakfast was cold. Need to switch on hot plate and the restaurant staff show displeasure if you ask for anything. In despite of this we would most definitely return and recommend and just hope a better hot plate is in place. Thankyou Abbie for all your help and kind service ☆☆☆☆☆
