About us

The Washington Arms is in the heart of the old village, directly overlooking the village green, with something to accommodate all ages and needs.

During the day, we offer a relaxed atmosphere, with exciting food offers and are considered a ‘lovely atmosphere’ for meeting friends and colleagues for lunch. We also offer a great beer garden area.

Each evening sees a particular food offer, as well as our full menu, all offered with a good selection of wines and drinks, together with a couple of traditional ales, at locally competitive prices.

Mixed grill was lovely, beer is a good price and now dogs are allowed in its going to be more visits from me.

Came in on Derby day with our friends, pub was at its busiest with great staff, could watch the sport on multiple screens so decided to have food. Food was cooked to perfection amazing picky bits with the staff providing service second to none. Getting drinks was quick, staff informative about different cocktails, and an amazing atmosphere. Great day but you get the same every time you visit - never a bad word to say.

Having visited this pub for Sunday lunch a few times, I was expecting great things again - what happened? Still tasty, but mean portions - I was still hungry afterwards which is a first for me. Hopefully a blip!

So disappointed tonight. Havnt been here for quite sometime. Had recommended this pub to a friend for her birthday as have not been disappointed before with food or service. Tonight was different. Maybe because we didn't go till 7 but that should not be an excuse. Food order was wrong and the woman serving it was rather rude it was as if our fault. The food was like it was the dregs at end of the day. One of our party ordered the curry she didn't even get her rice and the amount of curry in the bowl wasn't even half. Such a shame and very disappointing. Heard people on table over from us who also got incorrect order. Shocking really 😑

Really lovely meal. Scampi was yummy, kids meals of burgers and sausages were also excellent value for money. The chocolate fudge cake was delicious. Definitely keeping this place on my checklist as places to go out and eat when I'm up North.
