Welcome to Harvester Studley. The food was lovely but service was terrible. We were a large group celebrating a birthday but the restaurant was fairly empty at 6.30pm. By the time our food came out 50 minutes after ordering, the kids were starving. After dinner, we asked to see the dessert menu which was provided after waiting another 15 minutes, but then no one came to collect our order for another 35 minutes. By then it was so late for the kids, we decided we didn't want to wait potentially another half an hour for desserts to appear. Our plates were never taken away. We didn't leave til gone 9pm. Such a shame as the food was lovely and tasty and we also had a 40% off voucher so our meal and a drink only cost £15pp.
We had the beef burger and triple chicken and all was very tasty. One piece of chicken came cold, but was rectified brilliantly. Imogen was a wonderful waitress. Even though part of my meal came cold, she took it back to the kitchen and ordered me a fresh one. She also kept me updated on how long it was going to be. Imogen is a credit to The Harvester with her friendly, attentive and professional attitude. Thank you. Will definitely come again.
Spontaneous visit on New Year's Day before a walk around Arrow Valley. Salad bar was well stocked, surprised the place was open. Had a good experience absolutely no issues at all. Beth was our waitress and she was attentive and felt that her time keeping was very good when she asked us how our meals were and if we needed anything else. Overall very good.
Food was good and very filling. salad bar wasn’t filled when we first went up but was later on in the meal. served really quickly by Eva who was very pleasant throughout. mac and cheese could have been more saucy:)
Returned this year for a Xmas dinner from the festive menu after really enjoying the same meal last year - how disappointing ! I am a very positive person by the way and very rarely complain but I had to on this occasion not that it made ANY difference ! The dinner arrived and I had to question where the rest of it was ? Good portion of roast potatoes and good sized Yorkshire pudding with stuffing BUT the thinnest slice of turkey I have ever experienced whilst eating out - and yes just 1 slice - a tiny portion of sprouts not much bigger than peas - no more vegetables - a tiny teaspoon of cranberry sauce and as for the gravy - came in a tiny pot no bigger than an egg cup and could not even be poured - I tipped the pot upside down and the gravy did not budge ! The waitress kindly went back and fed back my disappointment to the kitchen only to return saying that was the portions however they would make me more gravy ! What I should have done was sent the whole dinner back and said forget it but instead I continued with my meal but at the same time expressed how disappointing this was and how it was nothing compared to last year - I really got the impression they had run out of supplies and were skimping to compensate - I am still annoyed now and definitely will not be returning and will not be recommending anyone I know to go for Xmas dinner at The Dog . My WORDS for the meal and the whole experience being DISAPPOINTING and UNACCEPTABLE !
