Country pub great food and drink skittle alley
Superb meal at the Mason’s Arms for my wife’s birthday, service and food were first class. Cosy atmosphere with that classic country pub feel, but modernised with touches such as great baby change facilities. Will stop by again whenever we are in the area. A pub this good is always going to be busy so make sure you book a table. Thanks to you all for making something special.
Went today for the first time for Sunday lunch. Was very impressed by friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. Food came quickly , good portions and everything tasted fresh and high quality. Good value . Would definitely return !
Just been here tonight. Really nice food and friendly staff. We have been in the area for a week and if we come back or were staying longer we would definitely come back here to eat. The other pubs not so much so. Traditional pub food
It is a lovely little village pub which is dog friendly. Food took half an hour and it wasn't very busy but they did let us know at least. I wasn't keen on was the chicken ceaser salad having gherkins in it. (Never have I had that in a ceaser salad anywhere I have been to. Very weird) and hot chicken on top of the salad. It made the lettuce soggy and no parmasen cheese. A friend had The pulled pork burger and said it was a bit plain, it had no burger relish on. Yes you can put some mustard, mayo or red sauce on yourself but with a burger you kind of expect burger relish or sauce on the pulled pork. The other friend said the burger with bacon was lovely. One major thing that irritated me was, that while people at our table was still eating I had my plate taken away which I feel is really rude because not everyone else was done and makes you feel like you have to rush.
Friendly but Exspensive for the quality of food. Burger cost me £12 and the beef was the same quality as Tesco value. McDonalds has better quality beef and than this place. The portion sizes were bad. 5-6 pounds for the small dishes. The pictures are them before we touched them. Personally thought they were tiny. And again bad quality. One of the wood plates split while we rearranged the table sending hot oil and mushrooms everywhere. And the waiter came out and instantly new the wooden plate had split. Leading me to believe it had happened before. Took a look at the wooden Plate to see bits of glue along the edges. So they just glued a plate back together. Happily would go back for a pint in the beer garden but definitely would not buy food again.

I've been the licensee for the past 12 months now. The pub was closed for around 3 years so we are currently working towards restoring this little gem.
