The food was of high quality and tasted great. Staff were friendly and helpful. A bit noisy due to sound echoing round the room so hard to have a conversation at times but that can be said about a lot of pubs/restaurants

Lovely pub, really nice decor. Met there for a Wednesday business lunch and the service and food were very good. It was quiet, so difficult to comment on the atmosphere but, regardless, a nice place to meet half way. Would do do again.

We visited the chequers inn today, the place is situated on the main road and parking is free. The bar and restaurant have ample space and the tables were well set out. The staff were just brilliant, we order food and when it arrived it was freshly cooked and totally delicious. None of the food tasted processed it’s was all of high quality and very reasonably priced. There was a huge range of largers, IPA’s and soft drinks. I can’t rave about this place enough it’s a perfect go see if your in the area. Just the perfect place in our view.

🥚 The Chequers Inn, Ettington - @thechequersinnettington has launched their (let’s not beat around the bush) fantastic winter menu. The Chequers Inn chef is amazing and has produced some of the best tasting food I have eaten at a country pub. - We were invited to check out the menu on Wednesday evening. These are the starters we had to kick off the three courses. 😁 - We went for the Pork and Black Pudding Scotch Egg and the Pan Fried Mackerel Fillet and Sweet Potato Puree. The starters tasted great, the Scotch Egg was particularly amazing as I do love black pudding 😍 - The decor was still fantastic @spencerswinden and I can’t wait for @thechequersinnettington to lite their log burner. Everyone should definitely make a visit to The Chequers Inn.

The Chequers has been taken over by new owners in the past few months. My partner and I have lived in the village for a few years, but have opted to travel to pubs in neighbouring villages up to now as the Chequers has always felt a bit pretentious and not so much a pub for locals. Having heard about the new ownership, we popped down for a drink a few weeks ago and were very pleasantly surprised to note the change of atmosphere - there were more locals, the new owners came across as genuinely welcoming and friendly, and it was a relief to see a change to the previously unchanging supply of drinks on tap and behind the bar. The food had been very expensive in the past for very small portions and not that great a quality, but wanting to see if there had been any changes to that, we tried a couple of bar snacks last week and food from the main menu last night - blimey has this place improved!! The crispy batted king prawns on the bar snack menu just melted in the mouth, I love the fact they don't charge for bread, oil and vinegar if you just want something to nibble on with a drink, and the confit duck with dauphinoise potatoes that I had last night was worth every penny. Decent portions, delicious puddings and cheese board...I can't find any fault with any of it. Not the cheapest but definitely worth a visit. Looking forward to popping down for prosecco happy hour Thurs/Friday!
