The Hercules Revived was opened in 2012 by local lad Ollie Warner with his wife Sian. Ollie has spent the last 20 years at the top end of hospitality and has managed luxury establishments all over the UK but is now happiest running his own eatery in Sutton Cheney. The Hercules Revived is beautifully located in the countryside village of Sutton Cheney close to the Bosworth Battle field Centre.
"The Hercules for me was an opportunity to express what I loved about hospitality the most. I could combine my years training as a sommelier & restaurant manager into a project that I could truly love. The Hercules offers fresh and seasonal dishes presented beautifully alongside great local beer, an extensive range of hand crafter gins and a rare selection of quirky and interesting wines. One of the things I wanted most from my own pub is that it needed to be all things to all people. You can come in the bar with your dog and enjoy a beer and a burger or you can enjoy a A la carte style dish in the restaurant and celebrate a special occasion. Everyone is welcome here". Starter of seared scallops was okay but for my main I ordered a confit duck leg pie duchess potatoes cherry and port reduction peas and carrots which turned out to be a sea of pulled duck swimming in gravy with Duchess potato sitting on top of the duck. The vegetables arrived separately and looked bland. Unfortunately nothing was seasoned. When the staff asked "is everything okay" I said no as I thought I was getting a pie which she said it is. After awhile of the manager not understanding what a pie was I said I wouldn't be paying for it. Also, they were not allowed to give us the password for the WiFi because the speed was slow and if they did it would slow it down even more.
A warm welcome, great service, and a lovely lunch. Can recommend the sea bass, and orange cheesecake.
Great dog friendly restaurant in Sutton Cheney. The restaurant is always pretty busy, so booking is usually a good idea. Food tends to favour meat eaters with a good selection of dishes. They always include one or two vegan meals which are tasty, but don't change on the menu particularly often. Great wine and good beer, as well as a selection of spirits. Staff are always friendly and despite popularity the restaurant area is spacious enough to not feel over crowded. I believe that the restaurant also hosts events like wine tasting etc. There is an outdoor pizza oven for summer when I think the restaurant also does pizza on particular days of the week. Took my dad for dinner and he had pork loin and said that he thought it was one of the best tasting dishes he has had out since coming to the UK. Thanks guys.
Have wanted to come here for a long time and heard good things, I was not disappointed!! The food was absolutely delicious, service was friendly, attentive and quick! We had a lovely time and even catered for intolerances within our party beautifully!
Excellent service and food. We came here for our Wedding Anniversary and were really pleased we did. I had driven past it many times and seen good things about it on Facebook so thought it would be good to try it. The Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was lovely in terms of decor and the atmosphere. The toilets were extremely well presented and there was ample parking to the rear.
