Chevyvonne was such a lovely lady great banter service and food , especially for canal boats .
Down to earth family boozer, not enough left of these beauties. I moor up here occasionally on my narrow boat (The Unicorn) for a swift half. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. I'm a complete stranger there but have always been made most welcome. You can have my money XXX
We haven't tried the food and so cannot comment on that. I can say that the service and price is excellent as was the beer. Not many customers at the time we visited (early evening) and therefore it was hard to judge the atmosphere. But it had a good vibe about it. The layout is good: though there seems to be too few tables for a busy pub. And, yet, there is a stage, sound system and dancefloor.
Great local pub, with friendly regulars. Good selection of live bands and lots of charity events with loads of prizes. Thankfully the land lady has worked hard to ensure it's a family friendly place and that no more undesirables are not welcomed. It is very clear having read some of the negative reviews, many of these people have been barred from the pub, and for good reason. I have never had any issues whilst I've been going there over the years. It's also dog friendly and there is many teams (football, pool, dart etc) who also are welcomed. Good pub, great atmosphere, nice crisp cold beer.
Nice pub and friendly staff. No food but can bring takeaway (multiple takeaway restaurants next door). Pete's Plaice provide awesome food.
