Started off badly. The room we were given (42) smelled , the walls had been badly repaired and painted over and the shower was so hot on even the coolest setting I could barely get under it. They changed the room for us in a blink. Made me wonder if others had complained before. We were upgraded to a much larger room 47. Lots of space but the bed was two connected, not a genuine king or double. It was very clean , the bed was comfortable. The place is a little dated but has good parking right in front and no noise. This may have earned it three stars but I have lifted it as the restaurant was a pleasant surprise . The food was a little expensive but portion sizes were good and the food very tasty. The breadcrumbs prawn starter was to die for. We have family that might need to stay here, they will like it. Breakfast in the morning was a little limited. Others do it better, but there was enough.
Nice, cosy and clean hotel. We had a problem with our shower and we were upgraded to a premium room which was overall, much nicer than our original room. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food at the restaurant was very nice too.
Excellent overnight stop. Comfortable bed, quite despite being accessed off a busy road (accept my snoring according to wife) . Nice pub bar on site, excellent breakfast. Enjoyed good old key to room, no worries about card near phone or locked in room. Extended check out arranged for extra £10 very handy for our afternoon appointment, and both reception and resteraunt relaxed about time restrictions as long as not rediculously late.
We stayed overnight for a wedding. The rooms were a good size & comfortable. Looking out over the field, watching rabbits and deer was a bonus. Breakfast was plentiful.
We will definitely be back to this hotel. Everything was great, staff lovely, excellent food, comfy bed, good breakfast. Only issue we had was with the bathroom, the sink was too close to the door, so I knocked myself a couple of times, the sink surface was very cracked and the tap sprayed water everywhere. The shower was hard to use as the shape of the bath made it very hard to be stable when using it. I would say the bathroom needs replacing an a shower installing instead of the bath.
