About us

Welcome to The Walpole Arms, an authentic Spanish tapas restaurant set in the heart of the idyllic Norfolk countryside.

The Walpole Arms, dating back to the 18th century, sits within the picturesque village of Itteringham. Itteringham, on the banks of the River Bure is four miles from the market town of Aylsham and just two miles from Blickling Hall.

We offer a large range of authentic Spanish tapas, prepared using as much locally sourced produce as possible. We are also dog friendly inside and outside the pub.

The traditional bar area with red brick walls, oak beams and, of course, a wood burner to keep you warm in those cold winter months, offers both drinkers and diners alike a charming atmosphere in which to relax.

The impressive Garden Room with high oak beams and cosy seating area opens out onto our vine covered terrace, creating the perfect setting for some al fresco dining, whether be it a romantic meal for two or a big family celebration.

We advise booking for any meals due to a limited capacity.

A wonderful location will kept beer. Good food from kind and attentive staff. Snug and warm by the fire on a cold day. Perfect

Greatly appreciated warmest of welcomes from the manager. He's so convivial, all the staff are. We had lunch from a well thought out menu. Our party of six chose most things from the menu, including starters,.ain't, and dessert. All was delicious. Compliments to the chef and his small team. This place is a bit of a hidden gem. Very dog friendly too. Our cocker Louie had plenty of tickles. Lovely place which we'll definitely return to!!

We had a wonderful time here and really enjoyed the food. The beef and vegetables are some of the best I've ever had! We were a little disappointed by the portion sizes but the staff graciously gave us some extra vegetables and Yorkshire puddings. The only downside to the experience was that the waiting staff seem to have very little experience; we received our food first and then the cutlery. It would also be helpful that the menu is more detailed as to the content / size of the meals. We look forward to returning in the future as the atmosphere and food was fantastic.

This pub has just re opened with new management and it certainly has returned with a bang! The food and service were top notch and the whole place looks amazing. The garden is beautiful for a sunny day and the inside looks like it will be warm and snug in winter. Great drinks selection including their own gins. I’d highly recommend the roast dinner on a Sunday. Very dog friendly.

Really lovely place for a drink or tapas, or both of course. We had an amazing meal there recently. The food is just excellent and the staff are really friendly. Dog friendly too. The atmosphere is great. Amazing outside space for alfresco dining also. Check out kitchen opening as it's fairly limited.
