ABOUT US

Local pub supporting Locals

I took on the Waggon and Horses in Summer of 2017 renovating the property back to a traditional pub from its former life as an Italian Restaurant. We reopened our doors in late 2017. Since then we have made various changes but now function as a locals pub welcoming everyone and offering Local Ale, Sky & BT Sports and Functions. We are owned by Elgood Brewery and feature their Cambridge Bitter at all time. In addition we hard to offer a variety of products to meet everyone needs.

Log and Coal fires in the winter to a large, green and safe garden space in the summer. Also available are our popular Pizzas at weekends.

Got to say bit underwhelmed. Went for Sunday lunch after seeing post saying great roast on facebook. Puke at entrance to pub and a number of dead flys stuck on to the window next to the table. Id not been to pub so probably should have researched. Small portion of pretty dry chunks of lamb over cooked. I had 2 roast potatoes which seems small portion. £25 seems expensive for location and quality / quantity of the food. Good bits were Yorkshire puddings / sticky toffee puddings. Staff friendly.

A very friendly pub with a welcome for everyone. As an ale drinker, the beers were excellently kept by the landlord who clearly has great cellar skills.

I found this to be a solidly average pub with a lovely exterior in a central location. The barmaids seemed to know the regulars, which is a good sign. The burger I had was pretty decent, though I nearly chipped a tooth on a none fragment, that happens. The sweet potato fries were okay, and the salad had good veggies, though no dressing at all. A pint of Doom Bar was either just over £7, I was mischarged, or the menu isn't accurate, but that's pretty typical of an average pub. Seemed very popular with locals!
