Very friendly staff made for a good atmosphere within the pub. The food was great. For the starter, I had garlic mushrooms, which was very tasty a little disappointed regarding the size as there was not many mushrooms within my dish. The main course was lovely, and the portion size was good. The last course I had was cheesecake, which was very nice, my daughter had the cheese board which you couldn't fault for the price there was lots of cheese to enjoy.

Visited on many occasions and thoroughly enjoyed service and food. However I booked a table for 1pm and was told on the telephone if we pre ordered food we would have no wait. I did this. We had ordered off the main menu not the festive menu. I asked twice how long we would have to wait explaining we had to leave at 3pm. On the last occasion at 2.05pm I was told they were very busy and pies take a long time to cook. (In a polite way) I had a smile at this. The steak and mushroom pie crust wasn't cooked through. All in all disappointed. I had taken a friend who hadnt been before. Not a good impression for her. We received our our food at 2.20pm.

We've been coming here for the past 4 years, and initially it was a great place to have a drink and have a bit to eat, but over the past 12 to 18 months, it's becoming less and less a place we want to spend time at, and after today's visit, we won't ever be going back. They introduced a rule this year that dogs aren't welcome after 5pm Friday and Saturday. If they are not welcome, we are not welcome. The food has slowly gotten worse, and we can't actually remember a visit where we were both happy with it for on the same visit. Today I had the fish and chips, which I should have sent back when it was placed on front of me, but I ate it and have felt sick for the past could of hours. There was so much oil on the plate that's all I could taste. Even the chips were over cooked and the fish batter was more oil than batter. Staff are great. Customers are great but somewhere along the way this place has lost its way. It was nice while it lasted

Lovely welcoming pub. Food is delicious. Highly recommend. Staff are always so friendly. Me and my partner cycled up from Manchester City Centre. The let us charge up our ebikes for the ride home. They couldn't do enough for us.

Nice relaxed atmosphere and was really surprised at the quality of the food .? My daughter ordered the cheese pie and offered me a taste , it was probably one of the best ever, I'm a bit of a fussy eater with oils / sauces on my food and the waitress was so lovely and understanding and my sure my order was exact . Thank you for a lovely afternoon with fab food and great service .
