Great food & beer nice pint of Tornado bitter brewed on site excellent old fashioned pub
Great beer brewed on site, Tornado is a beauty of a pint. Very friendly owners and locals.
Last minute decision but what a decision. Yes it's very quiet (in fact we were only people in) but we were out with family so wasn't a problem. Family business, very cosey and friendly. Home cooked food and it was AWESOME. Home cooked chicken, leek & chicken pie was gorgeous (sorry, wasn't putting cutlery down to take photo) and desert was yummy. I could have eaten it all again and I will when I return before going home. Please don't let the fact that it's quiet put you off, you won't regret going. Photos are;. [1] Mozzarella cheese and tomatoes with balsamic dressing starter & [2] Sticky toffee pudding desert. [Edit] Our last night on holiday and we went back; food and hospitality was still 5 stars, the first night wasn't just a fluke. All the food (starters, mains and deserts) is prepaired/cooked/baked by the owner Ruth and portions are great, I have a mighty appetite and I had to force my desert down 😁. More photos added.
Lovely proper village pub With good home cooked food
Amazing kind landlady took me in as was suffering shock after witnessing a traffic accident on the Dual carriageway. Max was well catered for on, rather than in his bed!! In front of the roaring fire; shoes and socks dry enough to put on by the time I left. Wonderful home cooked food , her own ham egg and chips, real comfort food. I must never go past at lunchtime otherwise I don't know what will happen to my waistline. A real country pub
