The Village House Coaching Inn is nestled in the newly formed South Downs National Park, at the heart of the picturesque downland village of Findon, near Worthing and was first mentioned by name in the ‘Findon Chronicles’ in 1527 when it became the property of a Mr Thomas Beret. Since then the building has seen many changes of use and has been a private house as well as a convalescent home for the well heeled of London.
Today, the Village House still retains its old world charm with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Very friendly and relaxed village pub full of character. Knowledgeable staff. Did not eat but food looked good. Well presented beers good selection of wines
Nice old fashioned village pub, relaxed, good service and lovely food. Good vibes. Good for locals and hikers and those passing through.
We stayed overnight on a Saturday. Our welcome was exceptional. In fact, all staff were excellent 👏 We could return at any time in the evening, which was helpful. The breakfast was very tasty with a good choice of options
A brilliant stay over, Sarah the owner, gave me a warm welcome and showed me around. The pub was friendly and well priced, with cold glasses for your beer. The facilities were spot on. Cheryl who sets up the breakfast is really chipper and gave great customer service. The Full English she prepared was scrumptious, but you have to try the home made granola it’s something else. I am looking forward to revisiting.
Friendly staff and fairly clean. The bed was a bit wonky and the room has seen its better days. But it was a OK experience. While we was there a couple of local lads was entertaining in the pub. For us foreigners this was really nice to experience. The food was nice. Not the richest in flavour.
