This is named after the last sailing trawler to be built, in 1926, by Uphams. The Vigilance has since been restored and is once again moored at Brixham. Fishing and Brixham have gone hand in hand for centuries, the industry being a major source of local work. In fact, until World War I, it was possible to walk right across the harbour, stepping from ship to ship, so closely were they moored. Today, the fishing industry remains an important part of the local scene.
Excellent visit. Been here for 2 weeks every meal hot and tasty. Service amazing. How can my spoons in dumfrirs get it all wrong and you can get it all right. Good team work from the top down. Have a lovely christmas. Keep being jolly josh you cheer everyone up
Not very busy today. But still very reasonable prices, staff members were very quick to serve you.

Great Wetherspoons pub this is, whenever have called in here have always found a relaxed calm atmosphere, but guess that depends on the time & day of the week you visit! As always excellent selection of ales and other drinks, excellent value food served all day and into the late evenings (convenient at times for us!) and friendly staff. Good location in the heart of Brixham and close to the bus station.
Throughout the visit the customer service was friendly and polite. We ordered three breakfast sandwiches to go and they were ready within 15 minutes. They looked ok at first glance, but could have been cut in half, but I think due to the packaging (see through bags) the kitchen staff decided it would be easier not to cut it. My sandwich was ok, but I wish I'd ordered it to be toasted as the type of bread they use is thin and should be for toast or fish and chips. My sister had a sausage sandwich, but it did not taste right - I tried it and it made my stomach feel funny. Shame really, because the other sandwiches were ok. Pub was clean and the vibe was nice and relaxed at that time of the morning.
