Small pub just outside the centre of town, re-opened and refurbished in late 2012, and now looking very plush and comfortable, comprising of one L-shaped lounge, plus a small area for darts players at the back. Guest beers can come from any number of breweries near and far. There is a small smoking patio to the rear. B&B accommodation is available. CAMRA Potteries Pub of the Month August 2013 & Pub of the Year Merit Award 2013 and 2014.

I am a student osteopath working in the near by clinic for my degree and have to stay regularly. Beautiful little pub. Well-kept beer. Friendly and welcoming bar staff. Lovely atmosphere.
We stayed here in september 13th for a night. Beautiful pub and the rooms very clean and comfy. Mattress was so comfy. Bathroom clean and had everything we needed even a shower mat. Coffee, tea making facilities were plentiful. Loved the teddy bear on the bed. The staff were lovely and had a great chat with them. The decor of the pub and roons were exceptional. Definatley recommend. Would definitely stay again. Mandy & Neil xx

The hotel is very much of the style associated with a traditional English town centre coaching inn, yet has been sensitively and subtly refined to offer the comfort and modern standards demanded by today's visitors.
