Brilliant Christmas Eve night out. The Band, the atmosphere, and above all, the landlady worked so hard to make it a great evening for everyone. Well done, guys ... we had a smashing night out!!
There was 14 of us for a family get together. They only had 2 staff on. One in the kitchen and one on the bar. The service wasn't bad taking this into account. Another staff member came in later which made things easier for them but we all had a brilliant time
Stopped by as it was Chippie Tuesday, I was not disappointed. I ordered haddock and chips with bread and butter, it was all delicious. Always enjoy stopping in at the Vesper Gate the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Will be back again soon.
The staff here are lovely and always very friendly. The beer garden looks huge so would be great on a sunny day. I bet they get a lot of footfall from the park/Abby! Although the drink selection was fairly limited, but I did overhear they’re changing their drinks around. As for food, me and some colleagues have popped in for lunch (around 12pm) on more than one occasion and always had to wait over an hour for food most peoples food. I’ll admit that ~8 of us turning up randomly and ordering meals will be a huge influx anywhere but everywhere else near by we’ve been is able to handle this and bring the food out at pretty much the same time. Our last visit here however some folks got theirs after 20 minutes, others 45, and one of us an hour and 15 minutes later. Could also be that it was early in the day and less staff on, but still. The staff member behind the bar was super apologetic. That said, the food was generous in portion sizes and also tasted good!
Cute place to grab a drink and some amazing food. Definitely recommend. Will go again. 😍 Friendly cheerful staff. High quality customer service.
