Walked in late at around 23:15. Bought a round and drank it. Went back to the bar about 23:45 and was served again. As soon as we sat down the bouncers told us to drink up as the bar was now closed. We said we would drink up and we were but we're constantly harassed to down a drink that just been served to us. Not going back.
Excellent place. So British, but there is also something American about it. There is so much space. Food is very nice, but the place is very nice as well. Eating, drinking and enjoying the football game.
Well priced food, and not too bad quality for the price - let down for the pure fact it is grotty, dirty and in bad need of a refurbish. Even a good clean would improve it drastically, but it doesn't look like it has been touched for years.
Not even worth the 1 star as a review. - go to The Slug and Lettuce instead!!! Booked a VIP table for a family meal. The VIP area was disgusting and unwelcoming. The leather was hanging off the seats, there was silly string on the wall from a previous events, and there was what one could only describe as "folk art" in the shape cocks on inscribed on the tables. Dirt and debris on the floor throughout the establishment. The smell of alcohol and sweat mixed fruity deodoriser was repulsive. Female member of staff working there with a big bunch of keys round her neck and glasses should opt for another job in a non customer facing role as she was rude as hell. Couldn't review on the food - as we left and went to the Slug and Lettuce instead but gathering from the teeth marks on the table were we were first seated - I don't think there much to be desired! Avoid at all costs.
We didn't eat but stopped in for a few drinks early on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere was good considering the time, with some nice music. Service was very good, and the drinks were reasonably priced although not cheap. Location was very convenient just off the high street, and made for a nice evening in that indefinable space between quiet place to chat and night out. I suspect gets very busy/loud on Friday/Saturday nights but was perfect what we needed.
