The Unicorn is situated in the beautiful Leicestershire village of Orton-on-the-Hill, a stone’s throw away from the four counties border and the popular tourist attraction, Twycross Zoo and the birthplace of the great British brewer William Worthington.
We are now open all day everyday!.
Had an excellent meal in the restaurant of this lovely Inn. The food was hot, well cooked and really tasty. The portions were generous and there was a good choice on the menu. We had no complaints about the service and the decor and the atmosphere was very nice. The prices are a little more than the usual cheap brewery chain pubs, but still very good value. We will definitely be returning and would not hesitate to recommend this Inn.
Food was massive portions but if you want a bucket of grease, then this is the place to go. All the food was dripping in grease. chips were great that was probably the best part and I think the food would be great. If they took more time of how they cooked it atmosphere, we loved it it’s quiet it’s calm we would go again, but maybe try something different on the menu it’s not so greasy
A 16th birthday meal for our grandson. Everything great as it always is at this place - other than a little early hiccup that saw my wife and I standing awkwardly around the entrance to the restaurant for several minutes waiting to be seated. It didn't spoil the evening......
We are here a week ago, with our friends. The food was very nice and we thought reasonably priced. We decided on food from the standard menu (rather than the Xmas dinner) and we all had nice meals. The service was a little slow, although in fairness it was lunchtime and they were busy and they didn’t really push the specials (we wouldn’t have known about them had we not walked past the board on our way to the table). But certainly would go back gain.
We was celebrating 2 birthdays and people had travelled a good distance to attend. 2 pizzas turned up "freezing cold" personally think they'd been frozen and warmed up the meat was ice cold. Was asked by the waitress that the chef had asked if "we wanted it warmed back up"...yeah I know! We had fresh pizzas and the quality was poor...4 out of the 9 meals were cold. Very disappointing and will not be returning.. manager also doesn't want to talk to anyone over the phone..been told by the staff 2 different names for the manager...when I asked about the 1st name..she confirmed no-one worked there of that name..avoid people!
