Food was lovely. Service was appalling. Long waits for food and our waitress's customer care skills were zero. No sense of customer service, no how was your meal and hovering over us waiting for us to pay our bill whilst my husband was still finishing his coffee. I had to then make it clear I was ready to pay the bill. Needless to say we didn't give a tip, and she literally tore off our receipt and walked off. Won't be going back.

Given a very warm welcome, and gratefully managed to be squeezed in for lunch which was then served by Julie. All a great start. Food I have to say was really good - would have been 100% better served much, much, much hotter. A VERY cold plate didn't help. Sadly the plate was so cold ( I exaggerate not) my bottom layer of turkey, potatoes+ some veg were fridge like. Julie did offer to re-heat!! my food. I declined. It did spoil my whole experience - BUT as I said the food was indeed very tasty. My Bramley Apple pie made up for it a little. Better luck next time???

Stopped off for lunch. It's a really nice bar / restaurant and offers rooms if you want to stay. (Can't comment on rooms as never stayed). Restaurant is nicely decorated and doesn't feel overcrowded and is fairly large space. There is lots of seating outside which would be perfect in summer and plenty of free parking. The food we ordered was plentiful and tasted very nice. It didn't take long to come out. If I was being critical I would of preferred a larger pot of gravy for the pie and more steak filling. On the whole it's a nice place to visit and I would recommend

We have had Christmas Day lunch here before. This year we stayed the night. The lunch was amazing and piping hot. The service was brilliant and staff friendly, polite and unflappable. Will definitely recommend this. Thank you all for making our Christmas Day special.

We called after a walk on a cold/wet autumn day after driving passed. Noticed it was dog friendly so called in on our way home for lunch. Great pub, friendly service and the food was lovely. Lots to choose from for my little girl (6 year old) for her dinner and also me and my wife had plenty to choose from. it arrived at the table very quickly and was lovely. We sat by the open fire warming up, which our dog massively appreciated :) We'll definitely be back again and highly recommend it to anyone.
