About us

In view of St. Mary’s Island and the golden Longsands of Whitley Bay, whether it’s a lazy Sunday lunch or a quick drink after work in the pub’s one-acre secret garden, The Beehive has it covered. Combining traditional ale brands, multi-award winning chefs and modern thinking, the Beehive Inn of Earsdon is under new management and is ready to become your new favourite local.

Running alongside its brand new and extensive range of high-quality, no-nonsense pub grub, the Beehive will now offer throughout the year a feast of live entertainment; including regular comedy nights and music events, featuring some of the region's hottest emerging talent.

The pub is located between the villages of Eardson and Hartley on the border of North Tyneside and Northumberland. The Grade II-listed building was built in the 18th Century and became an inn in 1896 and despite it's recent refurbishment, the pub still maintains its old charm and character. The ancient low wooden beamed ceilings have survived the recent overhaul along with its charming snug dining areas and quaint atmosphere.

Great service. Ordered Sunday dinners as a takeaway. Food was packaged up as soon as I got there. Came and had a meal during the week. Well worth the wait, as you know, the food is cooked fresh

I've been to the Beehive many times before, but this is my first visit fir Sunday lunch. I had the 12 hour slow cooked beef brisket and it was absolutely delicious, great Yorkshire pub too.. Staff are very friendly and polite. A definite must, but please book a table so you aren't disappointed. 21/10/23 - The Beehive is still up to it's ususal fabulous high standards. Food fantastic, staff lovely, friendly and helpful. Thanks.

This place is super dog friendly and the service is excellent. They have a massive beer garden too. The food was nice, especially the chimmichurri chicken with cous cous (really light and felt almost like a salad), the steak pie is also lovely!

Heard good things about the Beehive and it didn't disappoint! Having been for a walk to work up an appetite around the local, and lovely, Hollywell Dene, we arrived early as we had the nephew's with us and the staff were very attentive and accommodating. Food was excellent, cooked to a really good standard, the portion sizes were on the large size and didn't need to be quite so big because the quality was so good, I'd have happily paid the same for less! As you can see I struggled to even get the fish in the picture without the need for a wide angle lens! Will definitely be returning again and have added it to my armoury of top pubs to eat at in the North East
