Typical wetherspoons pub, located just off the high street near to the Nexus training centre, they offer cheap food and drinks which are value for money. It gets very busy, but no hassle or issues when I was in
Great place to eat, food very tasty- Devon (?) the chef should be highly regarded. Atmosphere was great, and the layout of the restaurant was roomy and relaxed. Very reasonably priced. The only downside was the peas- not cooked in salt and not cooked enough.
One of the biggest Spoons Casta has ever visited. We have been before many times but it is 5 or 6 years since our last visit. It has massively extended internally and also has a huge beer terrace. It lacks character but the staff are well trained and spot on. Casta had a Hadrian Borders Farne Island 4% ale. Very good, especially with a 50p CAMRA voucher. Locals tell me the kitchen csn get really busy.
Just not great ordered eggs benedict ... then was told had ' run out ' of poached eggs....so cook one then......what no chefs in your kitchen and no eggs... just yeah what I did have was ok but not what I wanted in the first place .....show some initiatives and actually cook some food... ??!! In the photo is my partners so called breakfast which gritty fatty bacon strands with just pure heated up ingredients rounding up the rest of her plate......worst Wetherspoons pub yet....
Came here today standard spoons decent outside area for drinking which is always a bonus! Got the curry which was nice but why are the poppadoms always shocking at spoons! Either soggy or full of oil! Come guys sort it out or scrap it of f the menu! Apple pie as increased in price significantly but at least the portion size has increased aswel!
