Popped here for lunch on a damp cool January day and decided to go for the chicken curry. Everything about it was delicious and will certainly be going back. All the meals that came out while we were there were of good portion size and looked tasty. Service was quick and our waitress was friendly and polite.
In a lovely location next to the water, clean and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food came out relatively fast, fresh and good sized portions at a reasonable price. Beer nice and cold and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Also dog friendly so big bonus, dogs also get free treats and water, will absolutely be back!
Excellent Sunday lunch 😋 The portions are more than enough a great selection of vegetables, which were tasty not overcooked, which I find is common practice nowadays. The staff were extremely friendly and responsive. The coal fire in the bar was much appreciated on a very cold day. I've eaten here often over the years, and the new owners have taken the place to a new level. Fantastic food and complments to all the staff and especially the chefs.
Decent pub, decent pint, great location. However, ordered 2 x chilli beef loaded nachos and they were poor. Sadly, didnt taste as good as they looked. Advertised on the menu as being topped with melted mozzarella but arrived covered in bright orange, low quality cheddar and not fully melted. The beef chilli was bland and with no heat. Expected better at over 8 quid a pop. Loaded fries were substantial and lovely but potatoe skins were cold when placed on the table. I don't take pleasure in writing less than favourable reviews for any local business but if you ordered a pizza for delivery and it arrived covered in cheddar cheese or red Leicester, it wouldn't taste as expected or as advertised so its same case here. All constructive and in my honest opinion. Didn't have the heart to complain as the staff were fine and it was busy so just left. Would go back but just for a pint.
Lovely pub, although plastic glasses for outside drinking, whilst we understand why this is done, simply not a fan of drinks in plastic glasses. Service was swift the views.were.fantastic from our table and reasonably priced. The fact we were there on a lovely sunny day just made it better and had everyone in a good mood
