Very quiet after the Sunday lunches, but a pleasant chatty friendly atmosphere. Watched the football with just one pint cos I was driving, and just passing through. A few locals were praising the food, which I'll try next time.
What an experience we had here yesterday, massive thanks to the gent with the lovely tattoos. what a polite, kind and caring member of staff. Never had exceptional service like it! We will be back next week. Thanks to staff, especially that man who served us with the tatts. Xxx
Have been here a few times already and typically the atmosphere is good. The food is somewhat hit and miss, can only recommend the chicken wings and the mixed grill as they seem to come out fine when I have ordered those. Had fish and chips a couple of times but usually the mushy peas has been microwaved to death it has a crust forming over it and becomes inedible. From a customer service perspective, being served and ordering drinks at the bar is pleasant and fast but table clearance after food is in need of major improvement. Each time we have ordered food we have never had our plates taken from our table and after roughly 30-45 minutes of waiting I decided to just move them to another table and then other customers have moved them to another table and they still don't get cleared - in one instance a customer actually took the plates to the bar to get rid of them. All I can say is really disappointing and there needs to be someone who regularly walks around every so often to check tables, especially at the back and not just what is in front of their eyes. If there is an expectation that we should be clearing our own tables then you should put up a notice, but I assume that isn't the intention.
Good location, plenty of free parking too. Great food and service, decent prices. Newly refurbished. The only negative is that they leave the door open to the smoking area outside and all the smoke blows in which isn’t good. Apart from that it would be perfect.
Went in on a Tuesday evening, we had BOGOF burger meals and a mixed grill. Food was good and plentiful. Steak cooked to perfection. Wasn’t overly busy and had a nice atmosphere to the place. Staff behind the bar and the lad bringing the food out were polite. Both of them asked us how everything was with our food and if we needed anything else. My son has been asking to go up again which we definitely will be. Not sure what the weekends are like in there, but during the week it had a calm family friendly feel. Slightly gutted I had the car! Missed out on the cocktails!! ….. next time :-)
