Purveyors of cask ales, fine wines, premium spirits & so much more.
Here at Lady Greys we are very proud of our fine selection of food and drink with a strong influence of local produce from cask breweries and local farms in Northumberland.
We have worked extremely hard to create a friendly atmosphere where you can meet new friends, chat business, enjoy our culinary delights or simply relax on our oversized chesterfield sofas with a large glass of pinot or a cool pilsner after a hard day at the office.
We specialise in Fine Cask Ales, Bottled Beers and Spirits from around the world and if you don’t know your stuff our staff are trained to help you find that hidden gem off the shelf or the right cask to provide perfection on the palette.
If you haven’t tried us we hope you can pop down to Shakespeare Street soon and see how we do things. Expect cask ales hand picked by our resident experts, bottled beers from around the world, wines selected by the award winning specialist House of Townend, traditional British food with modern inspiration, exquisite coffee by Cafe Vinci, homemade burgers, handmade pies, live music, comedy and much more…enjoy.

I came across this Venue by chance but Loved it. The decor is fantastic and they have a great selection of craft beer with over 30 taps and a decent selection of beers in fridges - one of the best I came across on my trip. I will definitely revisit in the future.
The bar has a good range of drinks available, especially if you're into beers, as they offer quite a selection. Be aware that prices are a bit on the higher side, similar to what you'd find around Grey Street. The crowd is generally pleasant and the staff are helpful. It's a nice spot for a quiet chat with friends, as it tends to avoid being too rowdy.
Great bar and an old one at that. The staff here are amazing ..so polite and efficient. And there's an outside sitting area which should be encouraged more as it reminds me of Germany or Holland, plus they have press the button heaters a god send in the winter here! All in all a pub not to miss Happy Christmas hopefully a white one
Very good Newcastle pub near the Grey's Monument. 8 cask beers on handpump when I last visited including a dry roasted peanut stout! Lots of outdoor seating most of it covered. Not too busy after the Spurs game at St James' Park.
Slightly off the main street but definitely worth finding if you like a wide beer selection including quite a few cask. There's a broad mix of good quality craft breweries and the mainstream stuff as well to suit most. I didn't try the food on this visit but they sounded like good grazing sharing options for another time. Old school no fuss decor. If you are in the centre looking for a good quality beer in friendly surroundings, this will serve you well
