A magnificently refurbished Edwardian building on the banks of the famous River Tyne, Hotel du Vin & Bistro Newcastle was originally home to the Tyne Tees Steam Ship Company.

My husband and I visited for the first time during restaurant week and we were utterly spoilt! You could be forgiven for assuming as its a cheaper deal you'd be treat/served a lower standard of food/service as we have experienced elsewhere but it was certainly quite the opposite. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table, the vibe of the restaurant felt luxurious and chilled and our food was beautiful. I have to mention in particular Shaun, who made our night particularly special, nothing was a problem, he ensured we were looked after the whole evening, checking in on us, ensuring we weren't sat waiting long between courses, entertaining us with great banter and he perfectly paired a complimentary drink for us both based on what we ordered for our meals. Thank you so much for a fabulous evening, we will be back!!
The friendliest staff to both humans and four-legged friends. We were very well looked after. Excellent location for the artsy surrounding area. We‘ll be back next time we pass through Newcastle!
A delightful hotel which offers everything from exceptional food, wonderful staff and thoughtfully designed rooms. Stayed here for our anniversary which helped us make a perfect memory. This place offers so much more with wine tasting and Victorian tunnel tour with a glass of bubbly. Will most certainly be coming back with our friends .... a first class place.
Toilet had skid marks, bath was dirty, dirt stuck to sink and beside table thick layer of dust on lamps. Premier in. Down the road has nicer rooms with bigger beds for cheaper. Manager was nice but all out of his hands, can’t guarantee a refund because you can’t cancel after 3 despite booking the room at 7pm and then spending 25 seconds in the room. No idea who gave it 4 stars but won’t be back
Stayed here for a business trip. The staff were excellent. The decor is nice. The massive highlight was the English breakfast. It was simple, no beans or hashbrowns but my goodness what was there was incredible. Quality ingredients cooked to absolute perfection. The best English breakfast I've ever had.
