About us

Two Boats
Biography The Two Boats Inn is a traditional canal side inn located on the Grand Union Canal, in the village of Long Itchington, Warwickshire. It provides a friendly atmosphere, and has good ales and fine hot and cold food. There is a Lounge and Bar with darts and TV. Long Itchington is on the A423 between Coventry and Banbury close to the town of Southam. The Two Boats Inn is on the main road where it passes over the canal. Absolutely fantastic, the staff were very friendly, the food was excellent, we went back 3 times during our weeks holiday, close by. The pub is dog friendly and at the side of the grand Union canal, what a fantastic setting on what has been the hottest week of the year so far! What an amazing pub excellent food complements to the chef, the staff and the locals were fantastic beautiful location will definitely come back and highly recommend this pub Dropped by for a late lunch today and was not expecting the beautiful food we received. I had a steak and Kidney pudding- sublime!!! The deserts observed on another table looked delectable. I couldn’t manage one though as I was so full from dinner! Will be back! Great pub, perfect place to come after a nice walk along the canal; dog friendly too is a massive bonus. The food is great and reasonably priced, the steak and ale pie was awesome with melt in the mouth meat!.

Great atmosphere! Randomly found this place open today, Christmas day, and love it. We felt super welcome, even though we are not locals, pints are a great price and friendly management too! I just wish we could stay around for longer than one day, and see the live music and quizzes they have planned for the winter!

We love this traditional pub. We went again on Sunday before we took our dog for a walk along the canal towpath, we eat before we walk as the portions are so good you need to walk it off 🙂. I had the chicken Sunday dinner 😋 and my husband and daughter had other food from the menu, and there is plenty to choose from. We also asked if they could do a doggy dinner with a bit of bacon and a sausage for the dog and they were happy to, we were amazed when it came out 2 rashers and 3 sausages, to say our dog was happy was an understatement, there was that much we asked them to wrap it up and we took it for his treats on the walk. All I will say is you must visit here if you are in the area, either just out walking or on the canal on a boat, the staff are always friendly and the location is great and the pub is warm and welcoming, we will be back soon 🙂

We recently visited The 2 Boats with our family from a canal boat holiday. We visited in 2010 when our kids were much smaller and were so impressed we wanted to come back again in Oct 2023. What a lovely place! The food was excellent, Emma the bar lady was so friendly and helpful and the pub has kept its pub like atmosphere which is rare now. Most of the other pubs we visited were boutique type places that looked like an Ikea restaurant. A pub should look like a pub and we were not disappointed! Please keep this pub the same- its a GEM! thank you for a great experience!
