I ordered lunch at 1210. It arrived at 1255. It wasn't busy inside the pub either! The time before that, when we ordered lunch, it was a similar story....we waited around 40mins for our food. Me and my wife have been coming to this pub for years. We've always enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. However, I'm not sure why it takes so long for the food to arrive these days!? The food itself was fantastic. And the service from the bar staff is always top drawer. But, waiting so long for the food to arrive does need to be addressed.

I walked in and was greeted by smiles, even though it was busy they managed to seat our table of four pretty quickly. Food was pretty good for pub food but the person who made our visit so nice was our waitress Ruby , even though we could see how busy she was she always checked in on our table to see if everything was alright. The drinks and we’re a bit pricey and it was a bit cramped but overall had an enjoyable day with family here.

Having eaten out lots this summer holidays (I am a teacher and mum), I was so impressed how lovely this place was, and in comparison to the many other places I have been, this was my favourite. It is therefore worthy of a review. Having not been here before, I booked a table for 9. When I arrived, the table was already clearly labelled and reserved. This was a great start. I was then served by Shania who was polite, welcoming and patient whilst we all did our separate orders. Our food was then brought out by Jess, who despite having lots of plates to bring out to our large party, was smiley, understanding at the different requests we were asking for and nothing seemed too much trouble. She had a really warm manner and again, this has not been my experience in other similar establishments. We will definitely be returning. Food was nice, great range of choice and very reasonable. The cooks I was informed were called Amy and Anita. Well done Traveller’s Home.

Not even worth one star but no option for zero. What a dreadful experience. Ordered chilli con carne and it looked like gravy with a few kidney beans thrown in. I asked for this to be changed for another and was told this is how it arrives on the premises. So it’s chilli con carne in a plastic bag that is microwaved. It was of a worse standard than the cheapest supermarket tin of chilli imaginable. I then ordered a burger (having been told I would have to pay the price difference from the slop previously served) thinking they can’t get this wrong. Well whoever is in charge of the microwave then manage to burn not only the burger, but the bun as well. I tried to just convince myself that it was okay but gave up pretending I was remotely enjoying my order. No refund offered. The offsite General Manager insisted that as I had attempted to finish my meal I should be charged. Ignoring the fact that it was inedible. A dreadful experience only made slightly better when I got home and was able to brush my teeth.

Always love going to this pub for food one of the best in the area servings beautiful burgers and pub grub, last time I had booked a table for valentine's day but on arriving was told we have be quick as they shutting the kitchen as they been busy and over ran but restaurant was empty only few tables taken, but they still took our order. Ordered the mega mix grill didn't wait to long for our food and the meal was lovely expeshly the chicken, didn't like the stake to much as wasn't cooked to what I asked for and was bit chewy to what normally is. Staff are friendly with service at the bar and the pub is clean and homely with plenty of seating. Prices are reasonable costing around £10-£15 a person.
