Booked a table last night for a special birthday. Table was late by 25mins to then be told only pork left available! Non of us like pork so we all left. 3 times this has happened. Why keep allowing walk ins when clearly not enough meat available for people who have booked in advance.
I’ve just visited my local toby carvery on denny dale road and despite the fact they were running out of meat the team were working effortlessly hard to ensure we were all still catered for. However, the man behind the carvery was absolutely disgusting. the way he was disrespecting the manager was atrocious, she was doing her best to make sure we all had meals and he was being extremely rude saying ‘she calls herself a manager but can’t manage this place properly’ we even witnessed him shouting at her whilst we were waiting for a table. Through all of this the lady was still smiling and trying her best to make sure all of us were aware of the situation. Props to this young lady for being able to stay composed during the situation because quite frankly i would have sacked him on the spot.
We came tonight for a Friday night carvery to avoid cooking. Before eating there was a medical emergency in the carvery area. The staff were brilliant, all very responsive, looked after the customer with care and respect and communicated to all customers well to keep them informed why they couldn't be served. Once ensuring the customer was ok, safe and able to move the them to a safe place the carvery was reopened. We've only been to this Toby a couple of times but the staff are so friendly, smiley and happy which is lovely to see and the food is delicious. We will definitely be back
Everything was absolutely excellent. From the welcome at the door, being taken to our table. Lovely attentive table staff. To a fantastic Carvery which had everything your heart could desire. All fresh and not dried out under the warming lights. Again the servers were courteous and lovely. Then after enjoying a 5* Carvery came the piece de resistance the Desert. I had the profiteroles a great choice, it was truly Scrumptious. So far 10/10. The only negative was due to timing and a technical error with the payment terminals. You had to pay at the bar till. Which was manned by one lovely lady / manager. Hence it took 15 minutes to pay the bill. Overall still 10/10 for a wonderful meal and service. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Went in for a breakfast - good prices, and good food. A couple of items were a little slow in being replenished, but hey that just means they're busy and it was only a short wait. The fried eggs swimming in oil, was not great as it means they go extra greasy as they cool. Really good sausages though, not the reality cheapy rusk filled stuff you get at most breakfast places around this price point... Will be back again.
