A vibrant cozy micropub with a selection of varied affordable drinks, ranging from craft beers and ciders, to your usual bar classics. The Tipsy Toad has been a shining light in the growing Heaton Road Scene; since its opening, the pub has garnered almost a cult clientele, in the same way a cult classic movie builds its own community. It is frequented by regulars who come for the Buskers Nights (a favourite of mine), Quiz Nights, the relatively new games room, other events, and of course, just for a lovely drink in a lively but cozy atmosphere with friends. Everyone is welcome here. While I can't speak for enjoyers of beers and such, as a lover of fruity drinks, the collection of tasty craft ciders here blows my mind every time. It's unlike anything I've seen anywhere else. Truly my favourite place to drink. The decor here builds an atmosphere tavern-esque wonder, with focus on browns, oranges and neutral colours with pops of vibrant colour, coupled with warm lighting, that makes this place shine like a cozy fireplace in Heaton's Nightlife. This place feels friendly and familiar. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Some LGBTQ+ wins here, with first of all its welcoming nature, I've seen people from all walks of life frequent this venue, be involved with its community. I can assure you from personal experience, no one is here to judge, and there would be a problem if they were. Secondly, this place has 2 unisex single-stall restrooms, which takes all of the hassle out of managing toilets for the evening for all us trans, nonbinary or otherwise gender non-conforming folks. Overall, I don't think Heaton would be the same without this place. I grew up round the corner from here, and I can't comprehend that for most of my life, this pub wasn't here. It feels like such a staple of the local community, and I hope it stays here for a long time. Come here, get your drinks, have a good night.

Fantastic place with such a great atmosphere. Spoilt for choice with craft ciders, local ales and spirits. Friendly people, always made to feel welcome.

Good bar. Good beer. Good people. Plenty events and the biggest choice of craft ciders around (15 at the minute!) well worth a visit

One of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had. Was so looking forward to trying this place. They have two breweries on the doorstep and yet they sell nothing local and mostly mass produced. Had a pint of Grand Central beer which was average at best. The worst part was a lady (who I presume was part of the staff as soon as we sat down she started screeching and ranting about customers, recanted a story about a run in with another pub/taproom. Every other word screamed was the F word. I could hardly hear my boyfriend talk. She dominated the place with her foul language. Although some lawyer was giving out free legal advice. NEVER EVER GO HERE!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Unique and quirky micropub. The back room occasionally shows sports but is otherwise a helpful expansion to the main bar. Small but regularly changing lineup of international beers and ciders, fridges stocked with bottles and cans and a wall of spirits for those that partake! Local art on the walls and occasional session musicians jamming in the corner. Only complaint is the size means it fills up quickly and becomes hard to navigate. Otherwise a great local venue.
