Food was very good, good reputation, well deserved. However, we didn't eat until over an hour after we arrived. That is because it was 40 minutes until anyone took our main order. It's was not a busy night, plenty of empty tables. We were walked past at least 7 or 8 times and had to flag someone down in the end. I asked what the waitress recommended, and she wasn't able to recommend anything... She said it's a new menu so you let us know what's good.... Management, please train your front of house on your menu. Get your waiting staff passionate about your clearly great food. I had to ask another waiter and he was very shy about talking about the menu as well but at least he did give a recommendation after I pressed him further. In conclusion, it's a great place, great food, let down by service.
We came here for the secret menu and weren't disappointed at all! We also had the optional wine pairing in addition to the food and it was incredible. The starter of pigeon with mushroom/truffle risotto was out of this world. It was exciting to have pigeon as it's often a forgotten protein but it was incredible and cooked to perfection. The risotto was quite possibly the best I've ever had too. The main course of halibut was the perfect size after such a rich filling starter, light and crisp, just lovely. Finally, the pudding was a beautiful rustic pudding with that homemade pudding made my grandma kind of feel. The interior of the place is beautiful and welcoming without being pretentious. Oh, and the staff are lovely. The guy who served us and explained the meals to us most of the night was such a lovely person and a credit to this place, he made the night so much better. Would love to return here even if it's not for the secret menu!
Best 3 course roast we have ever had!! What an unexpected find! From start to finish the Sunday roast experience was exceptional. Excellent wines, staff who couldn’t do enough for you and possibly the best roast we have ever had in a pub. The pea ravioli starter was absolutely beautiful, fresh full of flavour and as good as a starter gets. The roast certainly didn’t disappoint either, everything spot on including delicious meats and roast potatoes and a homemade Yorkshire to die for. If we could give an 11/10 then we would. Home cooked fresh and tasty pub food at its best. Beautiful presentation across all 3 courses. Can’t wait to return to Harrogate to try more of the menu!!
Friendly, cosy, cool atmosphere with sensational cocktails and delicious food. Simple but tasty menu. Great service. Nice touch with complimentary prosecco and a happy anniversary card 👌 Thank you 'Three's a crowd' for a lovely lunch 😀 Couldn't recommend enough!
The food was really good, the presentation was very nice and overall the taste was of a high standard. We booked for Sunday evening and didn’t realise that we would be limited to the Sunday ‘lunch’ menu, it wasn’t very clear on the website. So this was slightly disappointing but there were a few non roast options too, and in general the quality of the roast was good. The only part of the meal I didn’t enjoy was the pumpernickel crumb on my starter which nearly broke my teeth! The waitress was lovely and the service was very attentive.

We are very pleased to re-introduce ‘The Tannin Level’. This was a business we looked at some 10 years ago when we thought the opportunity was there to turn this into a brilliant restaurant.
